Khorne Demon Prince/Bloodthirster?

Spent a couple of days rebasing my old Khorne demon legion, in prep for the 40K game thats coming up, as they were all on square fantasy bases and dressed for snow........and I no longer have a snow table.

Didn't bother taking pics as its pretty dull stuff, but I did take the opportunity to paint the big Khorne demon I bought about 8-9 years ago and has languished in GREY ever since.

Even though its supposed to be a demon prince, I'll probably  just use it as a Bloodthirster as it matches my bloodletters (those satanic looking ones from 2002-3ish) and towers above them, so is pretty obviously The Boss.

Didn't take too long in the end and another one off the pile!

15th Century French

I like painting a good red livery, so naturally the French were gonna appear in this colour at some point.

These are all from the Perry plastic Mercenaries box - yet another one that's a winner. They'll be put to all sorts of uses really, and I may well expand out to another pike block for them. Need a leader too, thinking about it.

Flag is nice and simple too, which is a bonus.

This village is being hotly contested.........

ACW Union Cavalry Brigade

Been happily bashing out some Union cavalry, both mounted and dismounted, for a series of ACW games happening at the end of the month.

Should really have a third unit of mounted - I've got the box indoors - but I'm getting a bit Unioned out really, so will probably borrow one if required and do them later.

Wars of the Roses - Household and Support

Got the medieval mood, so spent a couple of days working on a WOTR household, plus a cannon for support. No real side nor historical figure, just a basic made up one.

Plus some collected shots, seeing as I had the box to hand...........

95th Rifles

The shame of my gaming cupboard is my Napoleonic armies, which are both:

1 - Massive
2 - Unpainted

Real monkey on the back, especially the masses and masses of cavalry I have. Its built at least, but part of the "no painted no tabletop" rule I've put in for myself is ensuring that these aren't getting played.

They take ages though, don't they, Napoleonic? Bloody ages with the straps and facings and all that. So when I do get the itch to paint some of it, I need to take advantage of that and get working!

Started with something nice and easy - especially now I'm a bit more sufficient with planning for painting en masse and getting armies cranked out.

95th it is to start then. Mainly because they take about an hour to hammer out a small unit of 9. Took the opportunity to rebase these onto 40mm multiple rounds as well, because I'd originally put them on 20mm squares and it didn't look quite right.

First unit below. I've another, but they can wait until I've done a few line regiments to break up the endless red.

More of the Roses

Some more WOTR regiments, just a pair of them this time. These are more the support units for the main household regiments in the brigade, but those can come later.

First up - Crossbowmen. Tasty minis and I wanted them to look bastardly hard armoured and real siege specialist style troops. The colours were most enjoyable, I must say.

Armoured rear - double hard!

Next up is a unit of pikes. Now, theres just something about pikes, isn't there? Masses of them look fantastic on the table.

Went for a more simple standard with no particular heraldic device as they aren't a household.

Lastly, heres everything all together. Getting there, its getting there. Two more households and some cannon and a brigade commander and I reckon we're done with this lot for the minute.

English Civil War Army

Seems like I haven't put any pictures up of my ECW armies as they currently stand.

Essentially, at the beginning of the year I had a couple of units painted but nothing too much else, with everything sitting in the grey shame in their boxes. Once life had settled down slightly, following a job change and finishing archive school, I scheduled in a big game (this one!) and got steadily painting and working away - ain't nothing like a deadline to get ones arse in gear

So, couple of pics. Couldn't even fit them on the usual board for photographing my stuff :)

Taken before I'd added flags and some other small bits, by the look of it. Will come back to this project at some point, but for now - its at peace.
