Adeptus Titanicus - Battle Report

Adeptus Titanicus finally got an outing!

A proper one, as I ran a couple of games remotely over the Christmas lockdown period, as we found that it was kinda perfect for screen sharing, being few models not a mass of terrain and the other player could manage their own data cards and such at their end.

Went for the opening scenario in the rulebook, where the Loyalists have dug into the city and the Rebels are marching in for the attack.

Was really good, those titans can take a hell of a beating!

Initial deployments and table layout

Battle Group Cainus (my group!) prepare to advance

City under siege

Loyalists advance out of the city in an aggressive defence

Loyalist Warlord holds down one side of the field.

Endless firefighting occurs, as the Rebels try an outflank with their warhounds.

Loyalists prepare for an incoming assault from between the hills

Battle Group Cainus advances into the smoke

Loyalist Warhounds counter attack, supported by allied battle group

Reaver meets Reaver

Open fighting on all sides of the table

Loyalist centre holds the line

Eventually, the Loyalist Reaver in the centre explodes from accumulated damage and takes out the surrounding friendly Warhounds in a chain reaction explosion

Rebel win!

Brutal game, which was a long firefight really, so it came down to who was going to be losing the first titan and swinging the balance in their favour, as it really could have gone either way.

Adeptus Titanicus - Full Legio

Ordered and finished the last few bits I needed for my Adeptus Titanicus battlegroup. Lovely models, all of these and 95% done, as I have a pair of knights waiting for painting, but not massively interested in those. Knights - bit like a starter, really, aren't they? Nice, but not the main event!

So, here we go with all of the AT stuff. Some of these have been seen before on the blog, but not in the full legio.

Who knows when they'll see the table - we had planned on end of Oct for a first try at the rules (4 player game), but Thee Plague saw that off. Especially as we play in a pub!

Adeptus Titanicus - Warhound Titans

Warhounds. Blessed Warhounds. My all time favourite thing in the 40k setting and finally a decent plastic set. First couple finished in a rather nice hours work. Plan is for at least another two and I'll run that fast attack formation with the Reaver as the heavy in the group.

Quite happy with the way these came out. Thought my Warlords came out well, but these blew them away.

Get the detailing money shots below!

Adeptus Titanicus Imperial Knights

AT Imperial/Rebel Knights. Not bad little minis. Dead easy to paint, but a shame these pics came out so dark. No bother. Not sure I'd want to paint a 40K scale one, but these chaps are rather nice and easy.

That puts me at two Warlords, 6 Knights = the contents of the Grand Master Box fully painted. Scenery is done too, but can't be arsed photographing that.

Adeptus Titanicus - Warlord Titan #2

Imperator Caine. Although identified as a rebel titan, this particular machine feels no real affinity with Horus, the Heresy or any associated traitor ideology. Simply put, this machine and princeps fight for glory, pay and self determination. Known to be skilled in the art of tactics and warfare, this god-machine is often found slumming it in low end warfare for any system governors that will pay their price.

Titan #2 done and done. Fairly easy, really, as I've done one before, its not a hugely difficult model to paint and its only one model! God knows how people are spending hours and hours on theirs...............well, I do know really, its through putting lots of shades, layering and highlights on them.

Me? Just bash it out in double quick time (90 mins ish, again). Detail and markings can follow as the victories rack up and need to be tallied.
