IRON SCORN: 40K Iron Warriors Army

Finished my Iron Warriors army for 40K, although I set these in a mid point between HH and 40K (35K?), where they aren't hugely overt on the chaotic elements, but theres some distinct chaos look in there.

Generally enjoyed painting and building these, although I took at least a year gap between the first batch (foot) and second batch (vehicles). Have to say, it was a real nostalgia hit building the plastic HH kit that is akin to the look of ye old RTB01 marines and weapons.

Still, very enioyable making a 40K army again and repurposing some old stuff I've had sitting around for (too) many years unused. Hopefully will give these a run out on the table in a couple of week against the hated Imperial Fists, which'll be my first 40K proper in a long time...........

Some of these have been put onto the blog before, but are here again as part of the main force.

The Sudan - Anglo-Egyptian

The Anglo-Egyptian army for Mahdist Wars, all done and finished..........although I'm not claiming that I might buy some more Egyptians, as that uniform - white with the red fez is just superb

So, the count here is (I think)

5 units British foot
1 unit Highlanders
2 units Egyptian foot
1 unit Sudanese foot
1 unit Jack Tars
1 unit Royal Marine Light Infantry
1 unit Camel Corps (Mounted)
1 unit Camel Corps (Dismounted)
1 Camel Corps Holder
2 Cannon
1 Gatling Gun
1 Gardner Gun
1 unit Mounted Gendarmerie
Assorted characters on camel/horse/foot
Variety of Royal Engineers/Heliographs etc

PICS!

The Sudan - Mahdists

Finally got around to finishing another project. Sudan this time, which has been a good one to work through and get into.

Think it took............4 years? On and off, I'd say about 4 years since I first start planning it out, yeah.

So, here we are with the Mahdists. Still not sure if I could do with another 2 units for 12 total, but I think this'll be enough for now.

A game is being planned for a few weeks time, so will get some action shots too.

I think the final count is

10 warbands of foot
2 cannon
4 units of horse or camel
3 units of skirmishers
Assorted leaders on horse/camel/foot

Heres the pics:

Of course, only now do I noticed I missed a bunch of banners. Easy to add those at a later date though.

Anglo-Egyptian to follow in a few days!

Adeptus Titanicus - Battle Report

Adeptus Titanicus finally got an outing!

A proper one, as I ran a couple of games remotely over the Christmas lockdown period, as we found that it was kinda perfect for screen sharing, being few models not a mass of terrain and the other player could manage their own data cards and such at their end.

Went for the opening scenario in the rulebook, where the Loyalists have dug into the city and the Rebels are marching in for the attack.

Was really good, those titans can take a hell of a beating!

Initial deployments and table layout

Battle Group Cainus (my group!) prepare to advance

City under siege

Loyalists advance out of the city in an aggressive defence

Loyalist Warlord holds down one side of the field.

Endless firefighting occurs, as the Rebels try an outflank with their warhounds.

Loyalists prepare for an incoming assault from between the hills

Battle Group Cainus advances into the smoke

Loyalist Warhounds counter attack, supported by allied battle group

Reaver meets Reaver

Open fighting on all sides of the table

Loyalist centre holds the line

Eventually, the Loyalist Reaver in the centre explodes from accumulated damage and takes out the surrounding friendly Warhounds in a chain reaction explosion

Rebel win!

Brutal game, which was a long firefight really, so it came down to who was going to be losing the first titan and swinging the balance in their favour, as it really could have gone either way.
